The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has started rolling out but a lot of LG G4 users have become frustrated with waiting for the update to land on their handsets. The Marshmallow update is seen as a stuttered affair thus far and many owners of the current LG flagship can’t do anything to speed up the rollout process.
The update started rolling out in Poland and was then seen trickling though South Korea before making it to some parts of Europe. Sprint LG G4 users in the US also got a taste of the Marshmallow update late last year. Right now, it’s the turn of Canadian LG G4 users to rejoice as a we see a couple of Canadian carriers join the Marshmallow update party.
Telus LG G4 users have begun to see the OTA notification in their devices, and Rogers users have also joined the party. Bell is expected to follow suit, but since the carrier hasn’t released any update schedule to its customers yet, there is no way to ascertain as to when exactly the Marshmallow update will land on Bell LG G4 users.
This patient wait for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is pretty understandable given the fact that the update brings several useful tweaks to the table. For example, there’s improved battery management brought about by Doze which essentially puts your handset in a state of deep sleep and in the process allows you to make use of every last drop of its battery power. The update also brings contextual search functionality with Google Now on Tap which is a smarter version of the Google virtual assistant. With this, you get to see search results that are related to what is displayed on the LG G4’s display once this feature is used.
